Jerry Seinfeld is a stand-up comedian, actor, and writer. He is best known for playing a fictional version of himself in the sitcom Seinfeld. He co-created and executive produced the sitcom.

After college graduation Seinfeld tried out at an open mic night at New York's Catch a Rising Star in 1976. He must have done something right because right after this he was appearing in a Rodney Dangerfield HBO special. A few years down the road in 1981 he made an appearance on The Tonight Show with Johnny Carson. He then became a regular on similar shows like Late Night with David Letterman and The Merv Griffin Show.

In 1989 Seinfeld created a show for NBC. The show was named Seinfeld and by its fourth season it was the most popular and successful sitcom on American television. The show ended in 1998; however it is still receiving airplay today in syndication. Once the show ended in 1998 Seinfeld went on to tour and record a comedy special, "I'm Telling You for the Last Time". He also appeared on the cover of Time magazine in 1998. He returned to stand-up comedy and has been developing and performing new material at clubs across the country. He also has appeared in three commercial webisodes for American Express and they aired in 2004.

In 2006, Seinfeld made a special appearance on Saturday Night Live when Julia Louis-Dreyfus hosted. He is a voice in the new Dream Works project Bee Movie scheduled for release in 2007.

In addition to acting and being a stand-up comedian-he is also a writer and bestselling author, most notably for Seinlanguage. He has also written a children's book titled Halloween. He also wrote the foreword to the Peanut Butter & Co. cookbook from his favorite sandwich shop in NYC.

Seinfeld married Jessica Sklar in 1999 and the couple has three children, Sascha, Julian, and Shepherd.
