Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets
Few coaches have been harder hit by underclassmen departures for the NBA than Georgia Tech's Paul Hewitt. Fortunately, Hewitt is a great recruiter and again, he has newcomers that should be able to step in and reduce the burden of losing Jarvis Crittenton and Thaddeus Young to the professional leagues. While they may not have the immediate talent to be the class of ACC, Georgia Tech does have enough to be a tough match-up for anyone they face, especially if their opponents don't come to play.

Leading this group of newcomers is Gani Lawal, a 6-8 forward who was a McDonald's All-American high school player. Lawal will join a starting 5 that has some questions surrounding it but it does have some talent. Tech's backcourt will rely heavily on point guard Matt Causey and shooting guard Lewis Clinch. Before he was greeted with academic issues, Clinch was averaging 17 points a game last year. If he can keep his grades up, Clinch will probably lead the Yellow Jackets in the scoring department.

Joining Lawal on the frontline will power forward Zach Peacock and center Alade Aminu. Look for Georgia Tech's post play to improve after the New Year when Ra'Shawn Dickey, a 6-10 transfer from South Carolina becomes available. Dickey will provide some much needed depth and toughness down low. If the guard play can remain steady, the Yellow Jackets should be able to play with anyone on their schedule, while fighting for another trip to the NCAA Tournament. As for you Yellow Jacket fans, you shouldn't miss this opportunity to come out and support your team. They have the looks of an exciting one.
